Low-Fee Counselling in West Kelowna
Everyone deserves access to quality mental health care.
We know that counselling can be difficult to afford, especially if you don’t have extended health benefits or insurance coverage. Financial barriers shouldn’t prevent someone from getting support during a challenging time.
Our Low-Fee Counselling Program was created to make counselling more accessible for individuals in Kelowna, West Kelowna, and throughout the Okanagan who may not otherwise be able to access therapy.
Beginning of September, we welcome a new intake of clients to work with carefully supervised master’s-level counselling practicum students.
Who Is This Program For?
This program is designed for adults who are experiencing challenges such as:
- Anxiety
- Stress and burnout
- Depression
- Life transitions
- Relationship concerns
- Grief and loss
- Self-esteem
- Personal growth
- Emotional overwhelm
Clients receive compassionate, evidence-informed counselling in a welcoming and supportive environment.
All student counsellors receive regular supervision from experienced clinical supervisors to help ensure high-quality care. Supervised practicum counselling is a well-established way of increasing access to affordable mental health services.
Who Qualifies?
Our Low-Fee Counselling Program is intended for people who:
- Have an annual income of approximately $40,000–$45,000 or less
- Do not have extended health insurance that covers counselling
- Would otherwise find counselling financially out of reach
- Are seeking support for concerns that are appropriate for a supervised practicum setting
Eligibility is reviewed during the intake process to ensure the program is the best fit for your needs.
When Is Intake?
Our primary intake period begins at the end of August, with counselling appointments starting in September.
Because the number of reduced-fee spaces is limited, we encourage people to inquire early if they think they may qualify.
What If This Program Isn’t the Right Fit?
During your intake, we’ll talk with you about your goals and the support you’re looking for.
If we believe another service or provider would better meet your needs, we’ll discuss that with you and help point you toward appropriate resources whenever possible.
Our priority is making sure you receive care that matches your situation.
Why Choose Low-Fee Counselling?
Affordable counselling shouldn’t mean lower-quality care.
Our practicum counsellors are completing graduate-level counselling programs and work under ongoing clinical supervision.
Many clients appreciate:
- Affordable session fees
- A welcoming, non-judgmental environment
- Evidence-informed counselling approaches
- Regular clinical supervision
- Support for everyday mental health challenges
