Don’t forget to remember to recite a mantra before or after you step on the mat can enhance your practice. A mantra can be used any time or any where, and not just while you’re on your mat. This tool can be helpful in calming your mind at anytime or anywhere. No longer want to feel stressed, anxious, lonely? Identify a word, a phrase, or chant that you can use in a way that works for you: loudly, softly, or even internally.

To enhance the benefits of your mantra use a short mantra that can be chanted or repeated 108 times. This is where a set of mala beads can be useful. The longer mantras can be repeated several times but no more than three. Take time for yourself by spending a few minutes to focus your time and attention on a sound to calm your mind and body.
