Physical Symptoms:

  • restlessness, difficulty sitting still
  • feeling easily fatigued or physically weak
  • muscle tension especially neck and shoulders and tension-related symptoms such as TMJ , headache, or irritable bowel syndrome
  • lump in the throat
  • vague nausea or stomach ache
  • chest pain

Emotional Symptoms:

  • being on edge or irritable
  • short temper
  • depressed mood
  • tendency toward frustration; or agitation or frustration resulting in “do it my way” or “I give up” responses when challenged

Mental Symptoms:

  • preoccupation with anxious thoughts that interfere with attention to present moment
  • poor focus
  • constant worry which may change its target, that is worry about one thing at one moment and something else the next
  • anxiety about one’s health
