According to Melody Beattie’s, The Language of Letting Go” (2017, January 23), when letting go of worry try saying “relax” when you begin to worry. We can often become exhausted before we have even start. When we decide to walk our path, we can become challenged with our spirituality before finally relenting, and giving in to this journey.

We may ask ourselves a few questions, such as, “Why do these things happen to me? What will happen if I try this idea? Where will I go if she leaves me? How will I live without him? What if I don’t do it right? What if?” (2017, January 23)

Sheffield, T. (2015, December 7) Sometimes worry and anxiety are a necessary part of life. We can actually become so worried and worry too much that it can impact our health and well-being, and it’s why letting go of worry, when possible is a positive thing to overcome.

 

In the modern world, our brains may skew our thoughts and our feelings toward pessimism and worry about the worst case scenario that can happen. We don’t want to prevent ourselves from enjoying our life and we may do this by constantly evaluating our lives for hazards, threats or potentially bad outcomes, even when things really aren’t that bad. If you feel consumed by worry and are trying to make a change, here are seven ways to help you worry less and enjoy life more.

7 Ways To Help You Worry Less

          1. Identify when you’re worrying.
          2. Identify the emotion and why you’re worrying.

      1.                3. Try to relax after you start worrying.

      4. Separate fact from fiction.

    1.                      5. Devote time to worry.

6. Go easy on each other.

7.  Get moving.

The road is up the mountain and walking up this mountain can sometimes mean having to go around an obstacle. Just go around it. When we spend time and energy fussing, complaining, and questioning the road before us, we rob ourselves from precious energy. This energy could be better spent on the journey.

Relax. Accept the path before you. A flat path would be boring. If we could see all the way to the end of the road from where we are standing, then what would be the point of walking it? Quit fighting the journey and start enjoying it.

Remind yourself to keep you from the exhausting practice of worry and resentment. Trust in yourself and the universe. (2015, August 1)

Letting Go

What if we knew for certain that everything we’re worried about today will work out fine?

What if . . . we had a guarantee that the problem bothering us would be worked out in the most perfect way, and at the best possible time? Furthermore, what if we knew that three years from now we’d be grateful for that problem, and its solution?

What if . . . we knew that even our worst fear would work out for the best?

What if . . . we had a guarantee that everything that’s happening, and has happened, in our life was meant to be, planned just for us, and in our best interest?

What if . . . we had a guarantee that the people we love are experiencing exactly what they need in order to become who they’re intended to become? Further, what if we had a guarantee that others can be responsible for themselves, and we don’t have to control or take responsibility for them?

What if . . . we knew the future was going to be good, and we would have an abundance of resources and guidance to handle whatever comes our way?

What if . . . we knew everything was okay, and we didn’t have to worry about a thing? What would we do then?

We’d be free to let go and enjoy life.

Today, I will know that I don’t have to worry about anything. If I do worry, I will do it with the understanding that I am choosing to worry, and it is not necessary.
