Registered Social Worker
Greta Joy is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (BCACC, 2020) based in West Kelowna. BC. She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (Yorkville University, 2012) following a successful career in early childhood education and family development while residing in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta of 30 years. She is also a mother of two young adults and a canine mama.
Working from the attachment-based lens of healing trauma and creating healthy relationships, Greta works closely with individuals who are experiencing interpersonal struggles like, anxiety, depression, life changes and relationship challenges. Guiding you to develop resources through mindfulness, cognitive-behaviour-somatic therapy, reflection and EMDR.
The counselling field has recognized that a one-size-fits-all is a myth; together we will utilize your unique strengths to develop a plan that will help you achieve your goals, at a reasonable pace. Counselling is a collaborative journey that must involve the clients’ priorities. Greta also uses experiential methods to explore the inner concepts of Self and integrate your unique life story into the treatment plan through using skill development from Internal Family Systems, Emotion Focussed Family Therapy, Sandplay ® (Jungian therapy)
From simple and complicated early life experiences, Greta has been able to make sense of adversity to develop a strong work ethic in helping people where they feel the need, at their pace and place.
